Meals For Musicians Help To Provide Food Assistance (New Orleans)

Howlin’ Wolf and The New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic have partnered together to create a new initiative, Meals for Musicians. The initiative will provide food vouchers good for curbside pickup of prepared meals every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at The Howlin’ Wolf Den. It begins on Monday, March 23.

The food assistance is a response to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in New Orleans. Due to strict restrictions imposed by the city during the pandemic, many industry workers, including service industry, hospitality, musicians, and construction workers, are out of work. As of this morning, there are 479 confirmed cases in New Orleans. This assistance initiative ensures meals will be offered to any workers in the entertainment industry s in New Orleans who face food insecurity during these times of uncertainty.

The Howlin’ Wolf put together this initiative on behalf of the New Orleans Musicians Assistance Foundation. They ask for consideration of a $5 donation towards a food voucher, and 100% of the proceeds will go to The New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic. Those who wish to donate can go here to help out:  GoFundMe page.
