GRAMMY: COVID-19 RELIEF FUND FAQ

During the past several weeks, the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund has raised nearly $14 million dollars to support thousands of music industry professionals affected by the pandemic. It is the largest amount of money raised, with the most recipients helped, for any single event in our history. However, the need remains great, and these unique times remain critical for music people.

Unfortunately, until we are able to raise additional funds for our COVID-19 relief efforts, we will not be accepting new applications for assistance. While our goal is always to provide help to everyone in need, we are bound by the monetary resources raised and available. So, the fight continues.

MusiCares and our partners at the Recording Academy are working relentlessly to raise more money to support those in the music community affected by COVID-19 and we will make an announcement as soon as additional funds become available. Note that all previously accepted applications for COVID-19 relief are in our queue for delayed assistance as we work to raise the additional resources to process those applications and provide grants.

Since the beginning of this fiscal year, we’ve vetted and approved over 20,000 individuals to receive financial assistance through all of our programs and services. That’s more than double the amount of people we’ve helped in any previous year. MusiCares is grateful for all the support we have received to date and humbled to be in a position to help those who so desperately need it…and we aren’t giving up.
